These densely interconnected honeycomb cells act like countless miniature I-beams, effectively distributing and bearing pressure applied from the panel surface. This ensures uniform stress distribution across the panel, guaranteeing that the surface maintains exceptional flatness—even over large surface areas. It is precisely this unique structural design that enables aluminum honeycomb panels to achieve a bending stiffness up to five times greater than that of standard aluminum alloys, given an equivalent weight.
The hollow structure of the aluminum honeycomb core endows the product with exceptional physical properties. The multitude of enclosed micro-cells within the honeycomb inhibits airflow, thereby significantly impeding the transmission of heat and sound waves. Consequently, the material offers superior thermal insulation, heat retention, and soundproofing capabilities. It can achieve noise reduction levels of 20 to 30 dB for sound sources within the 100–3200 Hz frequency range, and possesses a thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.104–0.130 W/m·K, making it an ideal energy-saving material.
In terms of fire safety, the aluminum honeycomb core is fabricated from aluminum alloy materials, achieving a Class A fire rating. It contains no combustible substances and does not emit toxic gases when exposed to fire. Furthermore, the honeycomb structure prevents internal gas convection; when combined with perforated panel surfaces, it delivers effective sound absorption, yielding a weighted sound reduction index superior to that of traditional materials.
